AGOGO PRESBYTERIAN HOSPITAL RECEIVES SUPPORT FROM JCE

Jackson College of Education (JCE) has provided support to the Agogo Presbyterian Hospital in the Asante-Akim North Municipality in the Ashanti Region. The move which forms part of the College’s Corporate Social Responsibility was to enhance the sanitary conditions at the health facility. The gesture which cost about GHC 15,000.00 included the refurbishment of two (2) toilets at the Operating Theatre and a donation of sanitary items. The donation was done by Mrs Theodosia Jackson, Principal of JCE in the company of staff of the College.

The items donated included One Thousand (1000) pieces of Toilet Roll, Sixteen (16) bottles of Liquid Hand-wash, Twelve (12) bottles of Sanitizer Disinfectant, Ten (10) packs of Toilet Block, Nine (9) Trash Containers, Six (6) gallons of Liquid Soap, Four (4) rolls of Bin Trash Bags, Four (4) Smart Spin Mop, Four (4) boxes of Harpic, Three (3) packs of Tissue Roll, One (1) gallon of Antiseptic Disinfectant, One (1) box of Glade (Air Freshener) and a dozen napkins.

The Management of the health facility expressed appreciation to the institution for the timely donation and hoped that other institutions would emulate JCE by supporting the facility which serves the Asante-Akim North Municipality with a Population of 170, 882 of which patients come from all over Ghana and neighbouring countries of Togo, La Cote d’Ivoire and Burkina Faso for ophthalmological care.

This kind-hearted move follows a recent cash donation to the Kumasi Central Prison to support inmates register and undertake the NVTI examinations.

The Jackson College of Education has over the years supported institutions and individuals such as the Prisons Service, Police Service, Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital, SOS Children’s Village, Ashanti Sports Federation etc. as a means to give back to society. An initiative which has won JCE both local and international awards.
