JCE MAKES MASSIVE DONATION TO ASHANTI REGIONAL POLICE COMMAND

Jackson College of Education (JEC), Ghana’s leading private college of education has donated assorted office equipment to the Ashanti Regional Police Command.

The donation which forms part of the College’s corporate social responsibility was to enhance efficiency in the work of the police.

They included a double-decker refrigerator, a photocopier with its toners, air conditioner, boxes of A4 sheets and curtains.

Mrs Theodosia Jackson, Principal of the College at a brief presentation ceremony said, the donation is as a result of her recent visit to the Criminal Investigation Department recently.

She added that she was moved by the conditions in which the peace officers were working and decided to extend a helping hand.

The police, she noted, sacrificed a lot to provide security for the citizenry and needed to be adequately resourced to effectively discharge their duties.

She said the public is quick to condemn the police in the event of a blunder but refuses to recognise their sacrifices to protect lives and properties at their own peril.

Mrs Jackson encouraged other public-spirited organisations and individuals to support the police in their efforts to combat crime.

DCOP Fred Adu Anim, the Deputy Regional Police Commander who received the items applauded Prof and Mrs Jackson for their kind gesture. He said even in the face of numerous challenges, the police would continue to protect lives and property.

The Deputy Regional Commander further called on other organisations to support them in the delivery of their services to the good people of Ghana.
